• The Bad Beat applies only to the $1-$2 No Limit Texas Hold-em games at the Northern Lights Casino
  • To qualify for the Bad Beat, the minimum requirement is a Full House of Aces full of Jacks (AAAJJ), Queens or Kings, beaten by 4 of a Kind or higher.
    • A Full House being beaten by another Full house does not constitute a Bad Beat
    • 4 of a Kind must be beaten by a higher 4 of a Kind, Straight Flush or Royal Flush
    • A Straight Flush must be beaten by a higher Straight Flush or Royal Flush
  • The winning and losing players must use both of their hole cards to create the highest possible hand, along with 3 community cards.
    • The player with the Full House must be holding at least one Ace
    • For 4 of a Kind to qualify, the player’s hand must include a pocket pair.
  • An additional $1 per round will be collected, along with the regular rake for each round
  • The hand must go to showdown (played to the end, where all cards have been dealt and players have completed betting and show their cards to determine the winner) in order for the Jackpot to be awarded.
    • The players hole cards will take precedence over the community cards in the case of a card of equal value
  • For a hand to qualify for the Bad Beat Jackpot;
    • there must be a minimum of 4 players dealt in the hand
    • the pot must be $5 or higher
  • In order to qualify for a share of the 40% player share, the player must be dealt in at the table
    • Players who are not physically touching their chair will not be dealt in, and will not receive a share of the Bad Beat Jackpot
    • Players who are sitting at the table but are not dealt in, will not qualify for a share of the Bad Beat Jackpot
       This includes players who:

      • Are waiting to post the Big Blind before joining the game
      • Coming in between the Dealer button and Blinds
      • Return to their seat after the first card is pitched to the small blind on a new round
  • Players must play their hands independently. If any player, whether directly or indirectly involved in the hand, passes information or instructs another on how to act or reveals their hand to other players, the Jackpot will be disqualified.
  • A player who removes his or her chips from the game prior to showdown on a hand where a Jackpot is won forfeits his or her right to any prize money.
  • If a player walks away from the game but leaves chips on the table and he or she was in the hand at the beginning, they will retain their rights to their share of the Jackpot if a Jackpot hand occurs
  • Any dispute or situation not covered by the official rules will be resolved by NLC Management in a manner deemed by them to be the fairest to all concerned, and that decision shall be final and binding on all participants
